Opal-crowned Manakin
The Opal-crowned Manakin is a Passeriforme of the family Pipridae.
Characteristics
It measures 8.5 cm in length. The male is bright green with a silvery crown and nape which is lacking in the female. The bill is heavy and pale bluish while the iris is pale buff or cream.
Food
Breeding
The male normally displays solitarily or at an “exploded” lek from low slender branches.
Habits
It is found in humid terra firme forest or mature secondary woodland.
Distribution
Encontrado exclusivamente no Brasil, ao sul do Rio Amazonas, do Maranhão ao Rio Xingu (para o sul até o Mato Grosso) e na margem leste do baixo Rio Tapajós.
